The Mudgee Running Festival is well known for its relaxed, friendly atmosphere – perfect for the first-timer who is looking for a no-pressure race, yet still, a course that is challenging to the experienced marathoner.

Our festival features Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km and 5km events on the same day. The longer courses weave through the picturesque Mudgee valley; past vineyards, wineries, farmland, grazing cattle, and a band of friendly and enthusiastic volunteers cheering you on! And the shorter events run alongside the Cudgegong River and around Lawson Park.

There will be a massage service for competitors, food & drinks, and most importantly, great coffee. Plus, every participant will receive a finisher’s medal.

Our Races

5km fun run/walk

Starting and finishing in picturesque Lawson Park, your course takes you along established, flat paths around the park and banks of the Cudgegong River. A great event for the entire family.

10km fun run

The 10km run is an out and back course that crosses and then follows the Cudgegong River. There’s an uphill climb to the turnaround point and a downhill return to Lawson Park.

half marathon

This challenging course takes our competitors north climbing out of town past numerous wineries before they will turn around and head back, downhill to the finishing line in Lawson Park.

Marathon

The course weaves through the picturesque Mudgee valley; past vineyards, wineries and farmland. There are water stations, a wine station and enthusiastic volunteers cheering you on!

Visiting our region?

The Mudgee Running Festival is a great excuse to visit our region … but certainly not the only one. Award-winning wines, amazing coffee and stunning landscapes also lure visitors from all over. If it’s an active weekend you and your family/friends are seeking, then there are loads of gorgeous trails and mountain bike trails to be explored (once travel restrictions are lifted, of course).
