Training Plans

A huge thank you to Nick Kastelein (IG: @NicKastelein) for creating the below training plans for our 5km and 10km competitors.
Even for the shorter events, a training plan plays an important role in helping you achieve your running goals and remain injury free.
Nick, a former Mudgee local, is a professional triathlete and coach, he has spent the past 15 years training and competing in Europe and is a 2 times Ironman winner! So, with a carefully planned program, we’re looking forward to seeing more PB’s than ever!

If you prefer running and training with others, below are some options in Mudgee:

MUDGEE TRI CLUB

Every Tuesday at 6pm, Glen Willow (by the play equipment at the soccer grounds) the Tri Club hosts a free, informal running club for everyone (including people who have no interest in, ever, doing a triathlon!). There’s no need to register, you just turn up and join in. All fitness levels catered for.

Mudgee Parkrun – It’s you, it’s free, it’s a 5km run against the clock.


On every Saturday at 8am. Starting behind Big W, on Short St, make sure you register beforehand, and you bring your barcode.
